Pour OverRead on to learn how to get the best-tasting Numa Coffee out of your pour-over.
What You'll Need
- Pour-Over Coffee Maker
- Freshly Ground Coffee
- Scale (optional)
Brew Time5-10 Minutes
Step 1Heat filtered water to 205 degrees. This can be done by bringing it to a boil and removing it from heat for 30 seconds.
Step 2Measure 2 rounded tablespoons of whole bean coffee for every 6 ounces of water used in brewing.
Step 3Grind the coffee to a medium-coarse size. These should be large enough to identify individual grounds but small enough to stick together when pinched.
Step 4Place a paper filter into the top of your pour-over.
Step 5Pour hot water over the filter to remove paper flavor and warm your mug or carafe. Discard rinse water.
Step 6Add freshly ground coffee into the filter.
Step 7Slowly pour enough water to cover the grounds, start in the center and work outwards, pouring in a circular pattern. Wait 30 seconds for the coffee to absorb and expand before adding any additional water.
Step 8Continue slowly pouring water into the grounds using the same circular motion. Maintain a slow but steady pace adding water every 15-20 seconds to ensure that the water level is consistent throughout the process.
Step 9Pour until your mug or carafe is full, about 350 grams.
Step 10After fully draining, remove your pour-over, discard your filter, and enjoy.
