3-4 Minutes

Getting Started

Step 1

Heat 16 ounces of filtered water to 205 degrees.

Step 2

While water is boiling, measure 2.5 rounded tablespoons of whole bean coffee and grind to a medium-fine consistency, about the size of beach sand.

Step 3

Pour 8 ounces of the pre-heated water into the bottom chamber of the Moka pot and insert the filter basket. You can use some of the remaining hot water to warm up your mug.

Step 4

Pour the fresh ground coffee into the filter basket.

Step 5

Connect the top and bottom chambers of the Moka Pot, being sure to use an oven mitt or dish towel when handling the hot water-filled bottom chamber.

Step 6

Place the brewer on the stovetop and heat on medium-low. The top lid should remain open.

Step 7

After about one minute or so you will see a steady stream of rich dark coffee percolate through the brew straw.

Step 8

When the coffee stream slows and the pot starts to make a hissing sound, remove the pot from heat, pour it into your favorite mug, and enjoy! (If the coffee is too strong, dilute with hot water to achieve your desired strength)
